Dear guests

We are delighted to welcome guests who have travelled from far and wide, but we do not want to raise any false expectations. We would therefore like to draw our guests' attention to a few special features:

Our hotel is located in the small, quiet village Braunwald above a valley and is car-free. The hotel can only be reached by funicular railway, which runs during the day (5.25 am - 11.55 pm), there is no road to Braunwald. Please note that some babies may not handle the elevation change on the funicular well. The journey time with the funicular railway is very short, only 6 minutes. If we know which funicular railway you are travelling with, we will pick you up at the mountain station with our electric car.

Our guests mostly speak German, the daily storytelling and wine tastings as well as most of the kids program are conducted in German. We offer an individual, authentic holiday experience and dispense with opulence and classic luxury. As our hotel is located at 1300 meters above sea level, we enjoy sunny days and fresh nights, which is why we do not have air conditioning (A/C) in our hotel rooms. The south-facting rooms are equipped with large windows. These rooms may get warmer during summer days.

Also because of the preservation of this hotel (conservation of historical buildings), we are not allowed to install air conditioning. The easiest and most sustainable solution is to simply open the window in the evening and at night and let the fresh mountain air into your room.

If you are planning to go alpine skiing during your winter holiday, please note that from the 2026/27 winter season onwards, only the children's alpine skiing area at Hüttenberg will be in operation, while the main ski area for adults will be closed. You can still look forward to unforgettable winter experiences in Braunwald, including skiing for children at Hüttenberg, picturesque winter walks, sledding, horse-drawn carriage rides, cross-country skiing, skating on the ice rink next to the hotel, and many other seasonal activities.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration. At the same time, we completely understand if, under these circumstances, you decide that another hotel would be a better fit for your stay.
